What it's about? Jennifer Strange is a foundling (orphan) and becomes the last dragonslayer. She must come to terms with her role and decide whether or not the dragon must die.

What did you think of it? I loved this book! I liked how magic is presented differently in this book than in many other stories I have read - magic has been declining over the years and has become a business that must be managed. I really liked Jennifer's character. She's very down to earth and tries hard to do the right thing, even though she has no idea what that is. The book was action-packed, except in the middle, but then it picked up again at the end. The first chapter was a little confusing because so many new things were introduced, but everything became more clear as I continued reading.

Who would like this book? I think anyone who loves to read about magic and dragons would love this book.  Recommended grade levels: 5th through 8th grade.
