The Templeton Twins Have an Idea

Author: Ellis Weiner

Genre: Humor/Adventure

What it's about: The Templeton Twins, as they are called (respectively) are brother and sister and have a dad who works as a teacher/inventor for a college university. Their mother passed away some time ago and they have gotten used to their life. Then, one normal day, Abigail and John (the Templeton Twins) were informed by their dad that they suddenly were going to move, and he was going to work at a new university called Tick Tock Teck. Abigail and John did agree that they thought it was very mysterious, but they went along with it anyway. Later, when the Templeton Twins' dad went to a conference to talk about his latest invention, the Personal One-Man Helicopter, a very handsome man spoke up (who had been one of his previous students at the university he used to work for) and said that the Personal One-Man Helicopter was his idea and that Mr. Templeton was a THIEF! A few days later, the handsome young man comes to where the Templeton Twins and their father live and threatens that unless Mr. Templeton admits that the Personal One-Man Helicopter was his idea, "certain things will take place!" Will Abigail and John find out how to stop this handsome young man? What will happen next?

What do you think of it? This book was hilarious and I could not put it down. The narrator was my favorite thing in the whole book and the ""Questions for Review"" at the end of the chapter were SO FUNNY!!! Here is one example:
1. "Mary has five oranges. She gives two to Tom. Tom then buys twice as many as Mary has left and gives half of them to her. Who cares?
2. Why are some dogs ridiculous, whereas other dogs are utterly ridiculous?
3. Have you ever walked around the block? Would you like to do so now? The rest of us will wait here until you return. OR WILL WE?"

The only thing I slightly disliked about the book was that the narrorator was just a TEENY bit too annoying, so that is why I gave this book 4 stars. If I could, I would give this book 4 and 1/2 stars.

Rating: 4 out of 5 (see above)

Who would like this book? This book is for grades 3 and up! If you are in that age group, I strongly encourage you to read this book. You'll love it! If not, we will automatically give you your money back! Just kidding!
