Genre: Humor, Realistic Fiction
What this book is about: Albie has always been an "almost": almost responsible enough to not have a
babysitter, almost good at math, almost cool enough to sit with the
'cool kids'. But with the arrival of a new babysitter, everything
changes. Suddenly Albie has a job at the donut shop (with a payment of
donuts- Yum!), he learns how to draw better, and he finally gets more
than four words correct on his ten-word spelling quiz. He goes to a new
school and gets a friend other than his neighbor, Erlan. He starts to
aim higher. Will he achieve his happiness as something more than "
almost"?
Your opinion: This book is amazing! It is a story of a regular kid throughout his
school year. While it doesn't exactly have a clear-cut problem and solution, it is
funny and many people can relate. I really liked it and think it really
deserves a shout out.
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Who would like this book: I think pretty much everyone would like this book. Also, people who are
currently-or have been-struggling to be good at something would enjoy
this book.
