Author: Ann M. Martin
Genre: Realistic Fiction
What is this book about: This book is about a girl with Asperger's syndrome, named Rose (rows).
She is OBSESSED with homonyms. Her dog, Rain (reign), is her best
friend. Her father has a hard time understanding her obsession with
homonyms, prime numbers, and rules. She has gotten thrown (throne) off
the bus for (four) being observant. I mean, you have to (too, two)
follow the rules of the road. She has an aid, who is always with her at
school. Sometimes her "observations" have her in the hall to calm down.
One day, she hears about a hurricane that is supposed to be the storm of
the century. Near the end of the storm, her father lets Rain (reign)
outside without his collar. The next day, she is nowhere to (too, two) be
found. Her uncle Weldon understands. He says he will help her find him.
But can Rain (reign) be found?
Your opinion: I think this book was very well written. I also think it was really cool
how the author wrote the homonyms next to some words. It was a fun read.
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Who would like this book: I think that people who love animals and like to learn more about disabilities
would like this book. If you have read Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper or a Mango-Shaped
Space by Wendy Mass, I think you would like this book. Everyone in Bookworms would like
this.
