Author: Gary Blackwood
Genre: Historical Fiction, Mystery
What this book is about: Curiosity is about a boy who has never met his mother, whose father is
in jail, has almost no money, and no friends. Other than that, his life
was great. But he has one VERY special talent -- chess. He can beat
full-grown men and chess champions. He is recruited by a mysterious man
who asks him to operate a chess-playing machine. But there is one
problom: If he tells the secret, his master's rage won't be the only
thing that kills him.
Your opinion: I think that the book was really good and that it was well written; but
I think that it was sort of confusing about what happened and how the Turk worked. Also the French was hard to understand unless you knew the
language. For me, it was mostly boring and all, waiting for something to
happen, and there were very few exciting parts.
Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars
Who would like this book: I think that people who like to read historical fiction and mystery
would like this book. Also, if you read Blood on the River, I think you
would like this.
